Marine Moves
Ontario Forward

The OMC is committed to continuing to collaborate with the Ministry of Transportation and the Ontario Marine Partnership and Development Office to implement the Ontario Marine Transportation Strategy

The next step for the province is to allocate funding to the four pillars of the OMTS:

PILLAR 1

20 millions over 3 years to optimize the transportation network (marine, truck, and rail) by enhancing supply chain connectivity and promote an intermodal vision for the Strategic Goods Movement Network.

PILLAR 2

$100 million over 3 years to advance projects that improve maritime infrastructure and equipment.

PILLAR 3

$10 million over 3 years to projects, programs and equipment that contribute to developing or upskilling the seafaring workforce.

PILLAR 4

$60 million over 3 years to reduce the environmental impact and lowering provincial GHG emissions. Shifting more goods and people to waterways can ease pressure on highways enhancing transportation efficiency.
